We are sometimes able to offer volunteering opportunities to people from other countries as long as (if applicable) their visa/work permit to stay in the UK is valid and does not exclude volunteering. However, these are not full-time placements - volunteers usually either help us for one day a week or give a couple of hours several times a week.
Unfortunately, we are not usually able to offer any volunteering opportunities until we have had chance to meet potential volunteers and assess whether we have a role that is suitable for their skills, interests and availability. We also cannot offer, fund or help organise accommodation for volunteers from overseas.
If you are coming to live in the UK and are able to find and fund your own accommodation, we would be happy to consider your application to volunteer with us at that stage. You can view all of our current volunteering vacancies on our website if you click here. This is updated regularly and as soon as opportunities become available. You can also find out the location of all our centres, hospitals and shops on the website along with their contact details so you could easily contact the closest service to where you will be living to see whether they could offer you any volunteering roles that suit your interests and availability.
Alternatively, please visit www.volunteering.org.uk or look on the national volunteer database www.do-it.org – you may be able to find suitable roles through these websites or find out more information about volunteering in the UK.
