Do you have a passion for delivering nature recovery, protecting our natural and cultural heritage and engaging more people with nature?

We’re looking for a Project Coordinator, on a fixed term up to 18 month basis, to work with the Project Manager to develop our new “Building the Foundations for ‘Corridor Connections’" project which will create and deliver a long term, large-scale landscape connection programme across the White Peak. There is a unique opportunity to connect people to the natural and cultural heritage of the area using existing trails which have been formed from old railway lines. This is a rare opportunity to help develop of a ground-breaking National Lottery Heritage funded project within the Peak District National Park.

We will build our knowledge and understanding of land and species condition within the area, existing and potential community engagement and partnerships which will enable us to make strong evidenced-based decisions on where and how to have the most impact.

This role will lead on all aspects of community engagement including reaching out to underserved communities, consultation, building relationships with schools and trialling pathways to engage with conservation/nature recovery careers and volunteering options, the coordination and management of volunteers.

This role will report to the Project Manager and will work closely with Authority specialists and key partners. The post will be based at Aldern House with regular travel around the White Peak area of the Park.

About You
You will have proven experience of working with communities and in particular underserved communities, project management including planning, delivery, finance, monitoring & evaluation, securing funding, managing volunteers and contractors.

You will have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, being comfortable with working as part of a team, leading, working with and inspiring multiple stakeholders including statutory bodies, NGOs, communities and other stakeholder groups. You will need knowledge of conservation, ecosystem services, access to the countryside and the interaction between recreation, land management and conservation.

Please note that this role requires occasional working in the evening, at weekends and public holidays. A driving licence is essential.
